We have no time to stand and stare?
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep and cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in the grass.
No time to see in broad daylight
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn and Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life it is, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
William H. Davies
Have you ever heard the songs of birds in springtime while going to work? Or have you ever admired a spring whose water beats through the woods and you even stopped for a while? Then you're happy. What a wonderful time!
Only thinking of spring, that careless time with much hope for future springs to my mind. If this word fulfilled with the freshness you associate with human's life, then it's youth. A lot of plans and much ambition make you have a spring in your step, disappearing into a crowded street. You're not the only one who seems to begin everything one more time. Nature is recharging with new energy. And those who step hand in hand with you are infected by spring fever too.
Do you mind your age when springtime comes? You feel the same as many years ago, don't you? The soul isn't aging. So, in the morning, you spring out of your bed because it's the first day when everything springs to life. It's time for spring-clean! It's time to have a new start, but don't forget to slow down your plans and breathe deeply the fresh air. Don't forget to take the time to stand beneath the boughs in blossoms and inhale the enchanting smell of beauty.
Soon it's spring break. So, don't give up even if you have to be in a hurry every day.
Hooray! Hooray! Keep being young with the spring in your soul.
Best wishes on the first day of spring!
